Education

LLB (Hons) Law Classification 2:1 University of Glasgow.

Experience

I believe that I can be distinguished from other students based on my determination, initiative and success to date. I have recently gained my Queen’s Guide Award, the highest award in Girlguiding UK. This takes three years to complete and was based on successful teamwork, working independently and building links with local people and organisations, demonstrating determination and initiative in creating contacts. I was the first person to complete the award in my County on the new syllabus. As a result of my work during this award, I was nominated for the ICS Young Scot of the Year Award 2009, and was a joint runner up. I am currently working towards my Gold Duke of Edinburgh Award.

Hobbies

In the 3rd year of my degree, I took the opportunity to study abroad at the University of Maastricht, in the Netherlands. Here I met, lived and travelled with students from all over the world. This further enhanced my independence, and proves me to be a self-starting individual who is capable of adapting easily to new environments, without previously knowing anyone else. Moreover, I have acted as a Class Representative within the University. This means that I am able to listen to other students and communicate their views – and in doing so, must have a visible presense on campus to ensure students know I am there to represent them. In addition, I have been a University Ambassador, demonstrating leadership skills and an ability to explain and communicate with different groups of people.
