Experience

Originally from Ireland, I am currently working as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the the University of Glasgow working towards understanding the blood cancer Acute Myeloid Leukaemia and identifying new targets for developing novel treatments. In addition to my research my job role requires scientific writing (abstracts, manuscripts, grants, reviews) and reading as well as teaching and mentoring research students (undergraduate, Master's and PhD level), therefore, I have a lot of experience in writing and proof reading theses/dissertations, abstracts and lab reports as well as demonstrating and teaching. I find this mentoring aspect of my job extremely rewarding as I enjoy helping the students learn new concepts and techniques and seeing their progress over time. It is important to have a comprehensive understanding of what you are doing as this will make it more enjoyable and in the end easier to learn and/or write about. I am available for private tutoring at weekends and if you need support that can be done online (proof reading and writing of abstracts/reports/thesis), english and scientific writing skills etc ) then I am available throughout the week as well.
